| | | Greetings! It's with great pleasure that we welcome you to our wedding website. We realize that we are so lucky to be alive in a time where same-sex couples are finally being able to legally wed. This is not a privilege; it is a basic human right! We humbly extend our sincere appreciation to all those who came before, "paving the way" for us to exercise this right. Thanks to all of you who have supported our right to marry. There is still much left to be done, so don't give up the fight and let your voice be heard! All people have the right to love who they choose. | | Both of us met after a rather extended period of getting over a rough break-up from a long-lasting relationship. We met via a computer matchmaking website and we are here to tell you......you CAN find love on those sites! We talked a little on the website and on the phone before finally deciding to meet for a drink in Asheville, NC on December 23, 2009. Our first date was full of all the things one would dream of.....an instant attraction, an interest in each other's dreams and goals, easy conversation and a desire that the night would never end. Our second date was take-out Chinese food and decorating the Christmas Tree together at Anthony's new rented house (that at that time was completely devoid of any furniture, etc as a huge snow-storm prevented the moving truck from getting his furniture to his house). Since that day......now over four and a half years later...we are more crazy about each other than we were then and still can't wait to spend time together. We bought a home nestled in the woods that we named Owl's Perch in 2012 and have thoroughly enjoyed sharing this home and planting flower gardens and decorating and entertaining. | | We chose Washington DC for our wedding. With 15 legal states for choices at the time, we decided that Washington DC would be our closest choice, plus we found a wedding officient and very small chapel that we really fell in love with. We also felt that Washington DC is the "land of history". We feel that legalized same-sex weddings are still in the history-making phase. We wanted to be a part of this landmark. Attendees to the wedding in Washington, D.C. will be in a great city for site-seeing and enjoyment; we urge all attendees to please feel free to plan your own activities, as we will be enjoying our time together following our nuptials.
Due to the fact that the wedding chapel is very small, we are extremely limited to a very small group of family. Those that we invited will receive a wedding SAVE THE DATE and official WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT in the mail.
Wedding Details are as follows:
Saturday, 26th Day of April, 2014 at 12pm/Noon
Location----1638 R St NW, suite 110, Washington, DC 20009. | | It is our plan to have a small, intimate wedding reception in North Carolina following our wedding. We do not have a date set for the reception as of yet, but please check back on this site. In addition, once we have the details of the reception, we will send RSVP invites in the mail. | | This site has our hopes and dreams for a great Honeymoon! Neither of us have a "want" for any material possessions; we want to make Honeymoon memories that will last a lifetime. We have chosen to go to Maine for our honeymoon. We love New England, and rather than a tropical destination we'd rather partake of "Lobsta" and see the Maine coast. We haven't had a vacation in several years, so we are very excited to get some time away and enjoy each other. We truly appreciate any and every gift that will help us to reach this dream! |
